April 2013: Houston Vacation (Day 8)

Our final full day found us driving to Brenham Texas to the Blue Bell Ice Cream Factory. The tour was amazing as we watched them create multiple flavors of ice cream. We also watched the production line keep the ice cream moving. Milk from 60,000 local cows is used to create their ice cream. The ice cream tour ended with dish of ice cream. An extra dish was only one dollar more. We all took advantage of that option. Blue Bell ice cream is the number three distributor of ice cream in this nation. This is despite the fact they are only found in 28 states. We were sad because there's no Blue Bell ice cream in Oregon.

After the tour we stopped at some outlet malls. Medford does not have many large box retailers. We took advantage and the girls got flip flops and the boys got sports jackets. I also scored two pair of fluorescent shoes that fit and were comfortable (a rarity in my world). Most importantly Nana was a saint and stayed with Stevie as he slept in the car. It was a great day!
