The Hall Family: May: San Diego Vacation

Brian decided that we needed to have our very own family vacation unrelated to a family reunion or wedding in Utah. Andrew had wanted to visit Legoland, and so we decided to go to San Diego for a week and see some venues and play at the beach. Brian discovered VRBO which is a web site that lets you rent houses which turns out the best way to book living space when you compare the cost of hotel rooms. Brian decided to rent a bigger house in Carlsbad and invite my family.

All the grandkids...

Well, we started with my mom and dad, Nettie, Tina, Chelsea....then Michelle....then Dyana....the Brett and Andrew wanted to come, then Ben the fiance at the time wanted to come, then Cameron and Rachel wanted to bunk with the fam since we were an hour from there house....and there you go: REUNION!!! (We love you Brian!)

We ate well, ala Costco....

And good restaurants...

We played card games...

Then went and saw some sites...

Definitely the best value for your money...

My favorite ride continues to be It's a Small World...

Then a rest day at Carlsbad State Beach: (1/2 mile walk from our rental)

Ethan would prefer to have stayed at the beach the entire time digging in the dirt...

Then Carlsbad Legoland:

Everything was made of lego...

Ethans favorite ride until he crashed, then sobbed until they took him off the course (that's what I get for putting him up to it when he was not even the appropriate age limit)...
